American Pancake: Resep Pancake Tebal Khas Amerika

Easy breakfast menu which is also one of my all time favorites. For people who are still confused with different types of pancakes, the easiest way to spot an American pancake is from it's thickness. American Pancake is thick because it has baking powder in the batter as leavening agent.

American Pancake
  • 2C (260gr) all purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1 C (100gr) confectioners sugar
  • 1 large size egg | telur segar besar
  • 3/4 C (180ml) whole milk/butter milk
  • 1 Tbsp melted butter
  • 3.5 oz (100gr) shredded cheddar cheese
  1. Mix flour with baking powder and sugar and then whisk in egg and milk
  2. Whisk in butter and shredded cheddar cheese (You can use electric mixer instead of whisk to get a really smooth and non lumpy batter). Let rest for 5-8 minutes.
  3. Heat nonsticky pan, thinly brush it with butter
  4. Pour pancake batter into the pan, wait until you can see a lot of tiny bubbles on the pancake's surface, flip. Top as desired.
