Pan Grease, Semir Anti Lengket Untuk Loyang

The amazing pan grease!

Have you ever gotten so frustrated because the cake you bake won't come out of the pan even when you already brushed the pan with butter before pouring the batter in? Run out of baking parchment or aluminum foil? Simply want to cut you expenses a tiny bit? Well... this one is for you!

Pan Grease
Mix shortening, vegetable oil, and flour (one part each)

That's it!

Sometimes, something really simple can bring a bunch of questions anyway, so please read this post completely.

MEASUREMENT
As I said, one part each. We're talking about volume here, not weight, so don't waste your time trying to weigh each ingredient. See example below:
  • 1 Tbsp flour + 1 Tbsp shortening + 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1C flour + 1C margarine + 1C vegetable oil
  • 1 bucket flour + 1 bucket butter + 1 bucket vegetable oil

SHORTENING & OIL
  • It's totally up to you if you want to use some shortening, margarine, or butter.
  • It's also completely up to you to choose what kind of vegetable oil you want to use. Be it coconut oil, canola oil, or sun flower oil, etc.

MIXING METHOD
  • Again I leave it up to you. You can use either spoon, fork, a blender or a mixer. As long as you can mix all the ingredients and turn them into a really thick paste (kind of like a mayonnaise), we're absolutely good here.
STORAGE
  • Keep it in a clean container with the lid on, put it in the fridge. Shelf life: around 6 months.
  • You can also keep it in room temperature, but I'm afraid you'll have to mix it again as the oil might separate itself from the paste. I'm not sure about it's shelf life if you keep it in room temperature, it depends on where you live (talking about different seasons and climate here).

HOW TO USE
  • Take a dollop of it, drop in a pan/tray you use for baking, smear all over using a brush. Don't dip the brush directly into pan grease's container. Don't hesitate to smear it really well and not too thin for maximum result.
  • When your cake (or anything you bake) is done, let it sit in the pan for around 5 minutes before you flip the pan to release it. Continue cooling on a wire rack.
